Potential for Offshore Wind Power Development in China

“China is the most potential country to develop the offshore wind power. To 2020, it’s estimated that China’s offshore wind power market capacity will be balanced with the sum of European Union countries.” As said byJavier Perea, global offshore wind power operation officer of Gamesa, in Offshore Wind China Conference & Exhibition.
Javier said that offshore wind power development needs four factors: reliable technology, perfect supply chain, advanced logistic and experienced operation and maintenance. So offshore wind power development needs all stakeholders’ participation. Only has right partners, best technology and Cross-industry experience, can realize the high standard offshore wind power.
“Although full of challenge, Javier is confidential to the development of offshore wind power. He said,” offshore fan manufacturing is much more difficult than land fan, as the working environment offshore is very rigorous. But in China, "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" emphasizes the quality of wind power which will lay foundations for the healthy and sustainable development of offshore wind power.
