Power Shortage Promote Power Grid Construction, Raising Cable Demand

According to Survey of SMM, power supply and power grid construction investment is speeding up in China and the wire & cable enterprises will benefit from it.
Power shortage promotes power supply and power grid construction. On June 10, in the 2011 Electric Power Summer Peak teleconference, Director of National Energy Administration, LIU Tienan released that, National Development and Reform Commission and National Energy Administration will Centralized audit a batch of thermal power plant and power grid projects which conform to power industry policy, to relieve the power supply contradiction rapidly in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Chongqing, Guangdong, Fujian, Shandong and Shanghai. And also, National Energy Administration agrees to carry out preliminary work of ±800Kv HVDC transmission project from Xiluodu to Western Zhejiang.
OnJune 15, executive meetings of the State Council research and deployment further advance Nei Menggu national energy construction. Nei Menggu area is the largest Wind resource production area in China. The national support policy to Nei Menggu will relieve domestic structural power shortage.
According to Survey of SMM, in June, China wire & cable operating rate is 87.3%, which is relatively high in the year. Some large cable enterprises said that, based on current bidding project orders, the wire & cable enterprises operating rate will not fall sharply in this summer.
