APPLICATIONS

SE-U (Service Entrance Cable Style U) is used to convey power from the service drop to the meter base and from themeter base to the distribution panelboard; however, it may be used in all applications where SE-U is permitted. SE-Umay be used in wet or dry above ground locations at temperatures not to exceed 90°C. The voltage rating is 600 volts.

CONSTRUCTION

Conductor

•Solid soft-annealed uncoated copper (8 AWG)

• Stranded compressed/compacted soft-annealed uncoated copper (8 AWG-1000 kcmil)

Insulation

•Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation meeting the required thickness of Type XHHW-2

rated for 90°C in wet or dry locations

Ground

•Bare copper concentric neutral surround the phase conductors

Bedding

•Glass-reinforced polyester tape bedding

Jacket

• Sunlight resistant Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket
