Encoder Cable for Automation Equipment

Product Introduction

Encoder cable, also named servo feedback cable, is a special precision signal cable designed for closed-loop motion control systems in industrial automation, rated at 300/500V and compliant with VDE, CE and UL industrial standards. Common types include TRVVPS flexible shielded cables. It serves as the transmission link between rotary/linear encoders and servo drives, motion controllers and PLCs, delivering differential pulses (A/B/Z), rotational speed and precise position feedback signals, as well as power supply for encoders. In industrial sites, inverters and heavy-duty motors generate intensive electromagnetic harmonics that easily distort weak pulse signals. Adopting twisted-pair differential layout, double shielding and ultra-flexible construction, this cable eliminates signal distortion, positioning deviation and servo alarm shutdown. It is categorized into standard type for fixed installation and high-flex drag-chain version for millions of reciprocating motions, widely deployed in CNC machining, industrial robots and automated production lines with high precision requirements.

Internal Structure

The cable adopts precise multi-layer construction; drag-chain flexible versions are equipped with tensile reinforcement to endure cyclic bending. The innermost conductor is Class 6 finely stranded annealed tinned copper. Fine strands deliver superior flexibility, while tin plating prevents copper oxidation in humid oily workshops, avoiding wire breakage under repeated bending and torsion with stable DC resistance and low high-frequency signal loss. Signal cores are twisted in differential pairs with controlled pitch to cancel crosstalk and guarantee independent transmission of A, B and Z pulses. Extruded TPE/PE elastic insulation with low dielectric constant features uniform thickness and minimal eccentricity, providing reliable voltage resistance and consistent signal delay. Flexible tensile fiber fills core gaps to maintain round shape and buffer stress from towing and vibration. A full aluminum foil inner shield wraps the insulated cores, covered by high-density tinned copper braided mesh with coverage over 90% for comprehensive EMI blocking. The outermost sheath is made of oil-resistant, wear-resistant TPE, TPU or special flexible PVC, featuring waterproof, cutting-resistant properties and tolerance to industrial lubricants; it stays flexible at low temperature without embrittlement during dynamic towing.

Core Performance Advantages

Outstanding anti-interference performance: the combination of differential twisted pairs, aluminum foil and copper braided double shielding effectively suppresses harmonic noise from inverters and power cables, preserving complete signal integrity over long distances and eliminating equipment jitter, positioning error and pulse loss. Excellent bending durability: ultra-flexible drag-chain variants withstand tens of millions of bending and torsion cycles, ideal for narrow cable carriers and compact cabinet routing without core fracture or shielding failure after long-term dynamic operation. Wide temperature adaptability: stable operation ranges from -40℃ extreme cold to 105℃ high temperature, suitable for cold northern workshops and heat-generating equipment cabins with no sheath hardening or cracking under cyclic temperature changes. Superior chemical resistance: no swelling or peeling after prolonged exposure to cutting fluid, machine oil and grease for machining applications. Optional flame-retardant eco-friendly materials comply with RoHS standards, producing little non-toxic smoke during combustion. Ultra-low capacitance loss ensures stable electrical precision for high-frequency pulse transmission, satisfying micron-level positioning accuracy of CNC equipment.

Application Scenarios

Position and speed feedback wiring for servo systems of CNC machine tools, engraving machines and machining centers; dynamic drag-chain wiring for joints of 6-axis industrial robots and collaborative robots; reciprocating control circuits for automated assembly lines and handling modules; closed-loop signal transmission for stereoscopic warehouses and lifting equipment; high-precision motion control wiring for textile, packaging and printing machinery; fixed signal cables for wind turbine cabins and outdoor automated monitoring devices; encoder supporting cables for cold-chain automated production lines and industrial facilities in frigid northern regions.
