Product Introduction

Overhead insulated cables with rated voltage 0.6/1kV, commonly known as aerial bundled cables (ABC), are manufactured in accordance with Chinese National Standard GB/T 12527-2008 and aligned with IEC 60502 international standards. They are widely applied for outdoor overhead laying of urban and rural low-voltage power distribution networks and service drop wires from distribution transformers to households. Compared with conventional bare overhead conductors, the outer insulating layer prevents short-circuit faults caused by tree contact, bird activities and conductor swinging in wind, greatly improving power supply safety and cutting daily maintenance workload. Conductors are available in copper, aluminum and aluminum alloy, matched with PVC, HDPE and XLPE insulation to fit various climates, load requirements and outdoor environmental conditions.

JK = Overhead cable; L = Aluminum conductor (no L denotes copper conductor); V = PVC insulation; Y = HDPE insulation; YJ = XLPE cross-linked polyethylene insulation JKV: Copper core PVC insulated overhead cable, applied to short-distance service drops and light-load areas. JKLV: Aluminum core PVC insulated overhead cable with high cost performance, the mainstream choice for rural conventional power distribution networks. JKY & JKLY: HDPE insulated cables with excellent UV resistance, waterproof and ozone resistance, suitable for regions with mild climates. JKYJ & JKLYJ: Copper/aluminum core XLPE insulated cables, the mainstream high-performance type for high temperature, heavy load and long-term outdoor service. JKLHY: Aluminum alloy core overhead cable featuring superior tensile strength and smaller sag, ideal for long-span laying across rivers and valleys. Internal Structure (Inner to Outer)

  1. Conductor Compact stranded bare copper, aluminum or aluminum alloy conductor. Aluminum conductors are lightweight and economical, widely adopted for long-distance power distribution. Copper conductors have lower resistivity and larger current-carrying capacity, mostly used for short-distance heavy-load service leads. The stranded structure offers moderate flexibility to meet the requirements of overhead tension installation.

  2. Insulation Layer Three mainstream insulation options:

  • PVC insulation: Continuous operating temperature 70℃, low cost, suitable for light-load projects with short service life;

  • HDPE insulation: Outstanding UV resistance, waterproof and ozone aging resistance, stable under long-term outdoor exposure;

  • XLPE insulation: Premium option, continuous operating temperature up to 90℃, short-circuit withstand temperature 250℃, low dielectric loss and excellent anti-aging performance, applicable to hot regions, heavy-load conditions and coastal salt-fog corrosive environments. Carbon black is blended into insulation to resist ultraviolet aging, no extra outer sheath is required for outdoor application.

  1. Multi-core Bundled Structure Multiple insulated phase cores and neutral cores are twisted together integrally. Long-span cables are equipped with embedded messenger steel strands to bear total tensile force, reduce the load on utility poles and enable long-distance crossing laying over rivers and valleys.
