High-Density Paper Covered Wire

Introduction

High-density paper covered wire is a special type of paper covered wire, which takes oxygen-free copper round wire / rectangular wire and copper stranded conductor as conductors, and is formed by tightly overlapping multi-layer wrapping with high-density insulating paper / power cable paper.
The insulation layer is compact, uniform in thickness and void-free, featuring better voltage resistance and mechanical stability than ordinary paper covered wires. It is specially designed for high-voltage / heavy-load windings.

Key Features

  • High insulation density: Paper tape wrapping overlap ratio ≥50%, compact and void-free; breakdown voltage ≥8–12kV/mm

  • Superior mechanical strength: Scratch-resistant, abrasion-resistant, vibration-resistant and not easy to damage, ensuring stable winding and assembly

  • Stable electrical performance: Low dielectric loss, corona resistance and excellent partial discharge performance, suitable for high-voltage working conditions

  • Oil and moisture resistance: Compatible with transformer oil and insulating oil; insulation performance greatly improved after impregnation

  • Thermal class: 105°C (Class A) / 130°C (Class B) after impregnation treatment

  • High dimensional accuracy: Regular shape with tight tolerance, high winding filling factor and excellent space utilization

Application Scenarios

Large oil-immersed power transformers, high-voltage transformers, traction transformers (main windings / regulating windings)
High-voltage reactors, instrument transformers, oil-immersed instrument transformers, special transformers
Large generators, hydro-turbine / steam turbine stator windings, high-voltage motors
Substation leads, high-voltage cable terminals, internal connecting wires of power equipment
Heavy-duty electrical windings with stringent requirements for insulation density, voltage resistance and reliability
